Same day

Can my windshield be replaced the same day?

Ninety-nine percent of the time, yes. We pre-order your glass so it’s here before you are, the installation itself takes a couple of hours, and once the adhesive cures we run the camera calibration and hand the car back the same day. The one-day promise is why we ask for the car in the morning; drop off at four and physics gets a vote.

Repair or replace

Can a chip be repaired instead of replaced?

Sometimes, and we’ll tell you the truth about yours. A clean chip that hasn’t started running can often be repaired for a fraction of replacement cost. But here’s what most glass shops won’t say: chip repairs are never warrantied, by us or honestly by anyone, because Texas heat and a cold snap can keep a chip cracking even after a perfect repair.

Once a crack is running off the chip, replacement is the honest call, and we’ll show you why on your own glass.

Repair limits

How big can a chip be and still be repaired?

Smaller than a quarter is the working rule for a chip, and shorter than about three inches for a crack. Damage at the edge of the glass or in your direct line of sight usually means replacement instead: edge cracks keep spreading because the glass is weakest there, and even a good repair leaves a faint mark you’d otherwise stare through every mile.

Bring it in or send a photo and we’ll call it straight, repair where repair holds, replacement where it doesn’t. What moves the answer: how deep the damage goes (a chip through the inner layer can’t be repaired), how long it’s been open collecting dirt and moisture, and where it sits on the glass. A photo through the free estimate page is usually enough for the yes-or-no.

Safety systems

Why does new glass need calibration?

Because your windshield holds the forward camera that runs lane keep and emergency braking, and a new pane, or even the same pane reinstalled, changes exactly where that camera points. On cars from about 2018 on, roughly nine in ten replacements we do need calibration, and we perform it in house with OEM procedures the same visit.

Skipping it leaves safety systems aimed wrong, which is why a glass quote from us includes the calibration line up front instead of a surprise later.

Claims

Does insurance cover auto glass in Texas?

Comprehensive coverage typically covers glass, and we bill your insurer directly. Bring the claim number, or start the claim from our counter, and the paperwork is ours from there, including documenting the calibration your manufacturer requires so it’s approved as part of the job. The Texas Department of Insurance publishes consumer guidance on auto coverage, and our own claims guide explains the process the way we run it.

If hail took the glass out, we handle glass first so you can drive while the dent work waits on approval.

All glass

Do you replace rear and side glass?

All of it: windshields, back glass, door glass, and quarter glass, plus the vacuum-out that broken tempered glass demands. Rear windshields and door glass shatter into a thousand pieces by design, and getting every fragment out of tracks, seats, and carpet is half the job. Where a rear camera or sensor rides on the glass or tailgate, the calibration rule applies there too.

Often, and we’ll say so honestly. Chip repairs are never warrantied, because heat and cold can keep a chip cracking. A running crack means replacement.
Comprehensive coverage typically does. We bill the insurer directly and document the required calibration with it.
The windshield carries your forward camera. Without calibration, lane assist and braking systems read the road wrong. About nine in ten replacements need it.
Same day. We release the car after the adhesive cures and calibration passes.
