Vehicle Wraps With No Visible Edges

Podium Body Works installs color change wraps the way we paint cars: with the panels off. Handles, lights, and trim come away so the film wraps every edge out of sight, which is the difference between a wrapped car and a car that looks wrapped. Matte, satin, and custom finishes, with honest wrap-or-paint advice before you commit.

The wrap

What is a color change wrap?

A thick film, close cousin to PPF, that changes your car’s color completely and reversibly. Your factory paint stays sealed underneath, protected while the wrap wears the weather. Peel it years later and the original color is waiting, which makes wraps the move for anyone who wants the new look without divorcing the factory finish, or the resale value attached to it. We finished a full color change recently, done the only way we’ll do them: disassembled.

The install

Why wrap with the panels off?

Because edges tell the truth. Wrap an assembled car and the film has to end somewhere visible: at handles, around lights, along trim. Those edges catch light, catch fingernails, and catch wash water that lifts them over time. We remove what’s in the film’s way, wrap past where the eye can reach, and reassemble. It’s slower and it’s right, the same discipline we bring to a respray, done by the same techs who take exotics apart for a living.

The decision

Should I wrap or repaint?

Wrap for a reversible color change on paint worth preserving; repaint when the paint itself is beyond saving. A wrap protects and hides nothing structural: it wants good paint underneath, and it gives that paint back intact later. A respray is permanent, the answer when the finish is failing or you want a color forever. Price lands in a similar conversation more often than people expect, so we quote both honestly and let the use-case decide, not the sales pitch.

The stack

How do wraps, PPF, and ceramic work together?

They stack, by design. The wrap sets the color. PPF armor can guard the wrap’s own high-impact zones, the nose and rockers that eat rock chips. Ceramic coating over the top adds gloss control, UV resistance, and the easy-wash behavior film alone doesn’t have. That full stack is a premium build, and it’s exactly the kind of work our disassembly-first install was built for.

Aftercare

How do I care for a wrapped car?

Hand wash, shade parking when you can, and stay out of brush tunnels. Film holds color for years when it’s washed gently and doesn’t bake unnecessarily; matte and satin finishes in particular reward a careful wash routine, since there’s no polishing a matte surface back. We hand every wrap customer the care rundown at pickup, film by film, because the finishes differ and the aftercare should too.
