Hail Damage Repair, by the Shop That Stays

Podium Body Works repairs hail damage year round from two permanent Texas shops, in Round Rock and Liberty Hill. We repair with paintless dent repair first, which keeps your factory finish, we manage the insurance claim beside you, and most PDR-only cars are back in one to three days once approved.

The method

Can hail damage be fixed without repainting?

Usually, yes. Most hail damage is repaired with paintless dent repair, working each dent out from the panel’s backside, so the paint your car was born with stays on it. The size of the hail decides the method. Small and mid-size hail is PDR territory. Big hail that stretches metal or cracks paint moves the job into conventional repair, sometimes replacing a hood, roof skin, or deck lid.

We tell you which path your car is on after we’ve actually seen it, and we still refinish the panel undersides the rods touch, a step most hail operations skip.

How it works

Why drop off for the adjuster visit?

Because approvals go right the first time when our eyes and the adjuster’s are on the car together. After a big storm we skip preliminary estimates and have you drop the car off for the adjuster appointment, about two hours.

Our 360 degree light tunnel shows every dent on the car; there’s no arguing with it, and it’s why our approvals come back close to complete instead of growing through three rounds of supplements. Most hail cars are drivable, so you keep driving yours until parts and approval are ready. Once we start, we’ve already pre-ordered parts, so the car isn’t sitting in a bay waiting on a box.

Insurance

How do hail claims and deductibles work?

A hail claim runs like a collision claim under your policy’s comprehensive coverage, and hail is treated as an act of nature: filing one does not mark you as a bad driver the way an at-fault accident does. Most hail deductibles vary by policy and often start around 250 dollars, paid at pickup.

Give us the claim number and we handle the insurer from there, the documentation, the approval, and any supplement. Texas law also puts the shop choice with you, not your insurer; our claims guide covers your rights and the whole process, and the Texas Department of Insurance publishes its own plain-language guidance on auto claims.

Local and permanent

Why avoid the storm-chaser tents?

Because when the season ends, they leave, and their warranty leaves with them. After every Central Texas storm, pop-up hail operations flood the area, some advertising deductible gimmicks. Ask one question before handing any of them your car: where will you be in six months?

Our answer is simple. Same two addresses, same phones, and a PDR technician who lives in Round Rock and works our shops every day. The repair carries our limited lifetime warranty, good for as long as you own the vehicle, and there’s a real front desk to bring the car back to.

Timeline

How long does hail repair take?

A PDR-only car typically runs one to three days once the approval is in. Waiting on the insurer can add a couple of days, which is exactly why we want the car here for the adjuster visit. Conventional hail work takes longer because panels get ordered and painted; back-ordered hoods and roof skins are the usual stretch.

For scale: in the huge storm that hit Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Austin with near-baseball-size hail, shops everywhere were buried. The most severe jobs, the ones waiting on backordered parts, ran months, but our process kept repairs moving through the shop as efficiently as possible to hold down the time you were without your vehicle.

Glass

What if my glass was smashed too?

We replace the glass first and get you back on the road while the dent work waits for parts and approval. Windshields, back glass, and sunroofs go quickly; glass work is same-day almost always. When we replace glass up front like that, your deductible is due at that first visit, and we’re straight with you about that before we order anything.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Yes, under comprehensive coverage, and hail is an act of nature, so a claim doesn’t rate you like an at-fault accident.
A hail claim alone doesn’t mark you as a bad driver. After a very large storm, area rates can rise for everyone, claim or no claim, which is a reason not to leave your payout unclaimed.
Usually yes, with PDR from the panel backside. Your factory finish stays.
PDR-only cars run one to three days once approved. Replacement panels add parts time, and we flag it the moment we know.
Storm chasers leave town in months and their warranty leaves too. Our PDR tech lives and works here year round, and our warranty is limited lifetime for as long as you own the vehicle.
